Today we announced our all-star Technology Advisory Board, an exclusive network of forward-thinking experts coming together to help shape the future direction of Pepperdata. The Board is made up of four industry and academic luminaries whom I greatly respect and admire. Our new board members not only understand Big Data, but also know how to build systems at scale.
Bringing backgrounds in designing, building and managing systems at scale for enterprises such as BlackRock, Credit Suisse, Stripe, Twitter and VMware, as well as academic and industry research, they will be working closely with our team to address the performance challenges of modern distributed systems; ultimately allowing users to extract the most value from their data.
The board will meet quarterly to strategize and provide guidance on the latest technologies applicable to Big Data such as cloud, machine learning, Spark and microservices. They will also serve as a sounding board for the company’s upcoming products, while making sure that they are designed to deliver customer results.
I am delighted to welcome David Andersen, Thomas Bain, Ian O’Connell and Carl Waldspurger to the Technology Advisory Board, each of them highly regarded in their respective fields.
David is an associate professor in the Computer Science department at Carnegie Mellon University and a researcher in the area of computer systems in the networked environment. Tom is an old friend and managing director at BlackRock with more than three decades of financial services IT experience. Ian is an accomplished software engineer with a decade of experience in Silicon Valley, including at Stripe and Twitter. And Carl Waldspurger, last but certainly not least, led important projects at VMware for many years and today lends his expertise as a technical advisor and consultant to many companies.
Enterprise Big Data application performance is more important than ever. We are incredibly fortunate to collaborate with this group to chart the direction of our performance technology, and with their prudent guidance, there are exciting things coming in the very near future for Pepperdata.
